AGS offers Master’s degrees in Adlerian counseling and psychotherapy. Academic tracks include marriage and family therapy, school counseling, art therapy, clinical counseling and non-clinical Adlerian studies. It has served low-income populations since 1991, via scholarships and internships. The Social Interest in Action Capital Campaign was launched for the purchase and renovation of its currently leased location along I-494 in Richfield.

As owner of its own facility, AGS will gain the stability needed to support its existing programs and will allow AGS to develop and implement a Counseling Clinic, Family Education Center, Therapeutic Pre-School Child Care Center, School Counselor Training Center, and Art Therapy Studio. These new programs will focus on low-income and uninsured/underinsured populations. As of fall 2008, the Campaign has launched an extensive series of approaches for major gifts.

American Indian Family Empowerment Program (AIFEP)
www.grottofoundation.org
AIFEP provides grants to individuals with community-minded educational and career goals. Also, mentors and practical opportunities in philanthropy are provided to American Indian people through the Leadership Development Program. AIFEP and CWH are working to organize an endowment and organizational development campaign to coincide with the move toward independence as a foundation, and honoring AIFEP's founding organizations—the Marbrook, Westcliff and Grotto Foundations—in the process.

Asian Pacific Cultural Center (APCC)
www.apccmn.org
APCC is a non-profit organization devoted to preserving and celebrating the arts, culture, and traditions of all Asian populations in Minnesota. APCC plans to build a 45,000-55,000 square foot building in St. Paul, which beyond serving its central mission, will also contribute to Minnesota's economic development efforts. Public and private funds have allowed APCC to move forward on its planning, and the Capital Campaign goal will be from $15 million to $18 million.

CWH conducted a feasibility study to assess the potential philanthropic support for a capital and endowment fundraising effort totaling up to $5 million. The focus of the Campaign is the innovative Wasie Wellness Center at Jones-Harrison, serving residents and others who face challenges related to arthritis, injury, cardiac issues, and other health/medical issues. A Campaign with a minimum goal of $2 million is being launched.

LDA Minnesota
www.ldaminnesota.org
For 40 years, LDA Minnesota has worked with children, youth and adults with learning disabilities, attention deficits, and other learning difficulties. The agency provides direct services including diagnostic assessments, tutoring, instruction in low-income urban schools, school-to-work transition programming, among other services. In mid-2008, CWH began working with LDA Minnesota to assess the potential support of a $1.7 million capital fundraising effort. The Campaign will allow LDA Minnesota to purchase and move to a permanent site in Golden Valley—blocks from North Minneapolis. This facility will provide ideal space for LDA Minnesota to expand client services and create a permanent Center for Academic Advancement, while stabilizing operating expenses over the long term.

The Link reduces violence in communities by helping to reshape the lives of youth. Most youth find their way to The Link because they display behaviors such as chronic truancy, school failure, gang involvement, delinquency, substance abuse, interpersonal conflict, or homelessness. The Link helps youth set aside counter-productive activity through clear thinking about life choices. Significant personal, educational, and family improvement is attained. The $1.5 million Capital Campaign will allow The Link to purchase and complete the necessary renovations to its new headquarters space in North Minneapolis, near International Market Square. Fundraising efforts have realized modest results thus far.

Lionsgate Academy
www.lionsgateacademy.org
Lionsgate Academy is the first school of its kind in the nation, serving higher functioning children and youth with autism. Its goal is to develop academic and socialization skills that will prepare students for full and productive lives as adults. Lionsgate Academy and CWH formed a contractual partnership to raise approximately $1.5 million for specialized enrichment programs, family involvement activities, staff development, mental health and therapeutic services, and adaptive technology over its first three years of operation. This Campaign was launched in fall 2008.

Little Earth Community Partnership (LECP)
www.littleearth.org
Little Earth is the nation's only urban housing development with American Indian preference. Little Earth has launched a Capacity-Building and Program Development Initiative aimed at increasing: parental involvement in children's education; pre-school enrollment; high school graduation rates; employment; community safety; resident involvement; home ownership; and earned income. CWH and Little Earth are in the early stages of active fundraising for Phase I of the Initiative; the goal amount for Phase I is $3.6 million; thus far, about $700,000 has been committed. In the early 1990's, CWH and Little Earth conducted a successful Capital Campaign for the establishment of the now-thriving Neighborhood Early Learning Center.

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS)
www.lssmn.org
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is the state's largest non-profit social service agency. CWH has worked with LSS to plan, organize, and conduct a major Capital Campaign for the construction of a new "Center for Changing Lives" in South Minneapolis. This project includes construction of multi-unit affordable housing and a multi-faceted program facility. Approximately $11 million of the total $27 million cost will be raised through the Campaign. With several months remaining, approximately 90% of the goal has been reached.

Merrick Community Services (MCS)
www.merrickcs.org
This century-old non-profit organization is dedicated to serving the residents of St. Paul’s East Side through a wide variety of high quality programs. Each year, Merrick staff and volunteers bring intensive support to 300 distressed families, enhance the learning of 400 children through pre-school and day care programs, make 900 connections to job openings, prepare 47,000 meals, and deliver 25,000 units of emergency services to neighbors. The 100th Anniversary Capital Campaign will allow Merrick to build a new center on the Arlington Parks and Recreation site owned by the City of St. Paul. The Campaign goal is approximately $7.5 million; as of mid-2008, about $2.3 million had been secured, with many months remaining.

Midtown Global Market
www.ndc-mn.org
In mid-2008, Neighborhood Development Center engaged CWH to assist in planning for and conducting a $3 million fundraising campaign for the Midtown Global Market. The Market, operating since 2006, is an innovative example of entrepreneurship and cultural exchange. The ultimate goals of the Global Market (stable immigrant families; breaking the generational cycle of poverty; employment of low income people; a revitalized community) and the way to achieve the goals (a sound business plan; break-even or better revenue/expense projections) will in combination result in a successful venture.

Northwest Youth & Family Services (NYFS)
www.nyfs.org
NYFS has responded for over 30 years to the challenges and potential of youth in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities with an array of outcome-focused programs. CWH worked with NYFS on a successful Capital Campaign in the 1990's to purchase and design its current headquarters building. The organization is now committed to constructing a new, expansive multi-use Discovery Center on its property in Shoreview, to offer physical outlets, socialization opportunities for disaffected youth, and family cohesiveness activities – as well as space for community meetings and events. Approximately $2 million will be needed for construction and related costs. The Campaign was launched late summer 2008.

Plymouth Christian Youth Center (PCYC)
www.pcyc-mpls.org
PCYC is a longstanding, vital resource to youth in North Minneapolis. With Lutheran roots, it offers nondenominational academic, social, career development, and arts programs. PCYC and CWH worked collaboratively in the 1990's to secure $3.4 million for a "new" alternative school building and a new headquarters/program facility. PCYC's next challenge will be the renovation of its Capri Theater along West Broadway, and the creation of additional space for performing arts education. The Capri Theater renovation is seen as a powerful symbol of North Minneapolis' revitalization. As of fall 2008, a major Capital Campaign was in its planning and organizing stages.

St. Anne's Community Development Corporation (SACDC)
SACDC is an independent non-profit corporation that has constructed a senior housing community located near West Broadway in North Minneapolis. It is non-denominational and serves older adults within a broad range of incomes. This senior housing community will support residents' ability to "age in place" and will offer opportunities for intergenerational service. The project gathered extensive governmental support and is viewed as a critical component of the redevelopment of West Broadway. The total project cost is approximately $13.4 million. A Capital Campaign conducted by CWH and St. Anne's sought 10% of this total. As of fall 2008, only a small portion of the private funding goal had been committed.
